ABOUT THIS COURSE
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the nationally recognised qualification for first aid officers — equipping you to respond confidently to a wide range of emergencies in the workplace and community.
This course covers the full scope of first aid response including CPR, casualty assessment, management of bleeding, shock, fractures, burns, asthma, anaphylaxis, and other common medical emergencies. It includes the HLTAID009 CPR unit as a core component.
The qualification is valid for 3 years, with the CPR component requiring annual renewal. It meets the requirements of Safe Work Australia’s Code of Practice for First Aid in the Workplace.

Course Details
Entry Requirements
- No formal prerequisites — open to all
- Minimum 14 years of age
- Physical capacity to kneel and perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin on the floor
- Appropriate attire — long pants and closed-in shoes
- Valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) required for certification
- Reasonable English language and literacy skills for written assessment
