ABOUT THIS COURSE

INT018 Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel & Provide First Aid is the specialist qualification for anyone who works near live low-voltage equipment — combining safe rescue from electrical contact with the CPR and first aid skills needed in the seconds and minutes that follow.

This skill set covers the full sequence of an electrical incident response: isolating the hazard, safely freeing a casualty from contact with a live LV panel, performing immediate CPR and managing the casualty until paramedics arrive. It includes UETDRMP018 (Perform rescue from a live LV panel), HLTAID009 (CPR) and HLTAID011 (Provide First Aid) as elective.

The course is designed around the realities of electrical work — the casualty may be unconscious with serious burns, the rescuer must not become a second casualty, and emergency services may be more than minutes away. Annual renewal is required for the LV rescue and CPR components to maintain currency.

Safely free a casualty from a live panel using approved rescue equipment
3
Perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin demonstrating correct technique
4
Operate an AED following electrical contact scenario
5
Manage burns and associated injuries from electrical contact
6
Conduct structured handover to simulated emergency services

Written Assessment

Knowledge assessment covering electrical hazard awareness, ARC guidelines, isolation principles and burn management.
