ABOUT THIS COURSE

MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis is a focused unit on identifying and analysing workplace hazards using a structured method — a core skill in any process or permit environment.

The unit equips workers to walk an area, recognise hazards across a wide range of categories, and document the analysis in a form that supports JSEA, SWMS or permit-to-work documentation.

It is the manufacturing-package equivalent of the RII risk units, and is the standard hazard analysis qualification required as a co-requisite for MSMPER300 Issue work permits. Many workplaces deliver these together as a single program.

2
Apply a risk matrix to score each hazard and prioritise the top three for control
3
Develop a documented hazard analysis using the workplace template provided
4
Communicate the analysis outputs to a simulated work crew
5
Review the analysis after a simulated change in conditions and update controls

Written Assessment

Short-answer written questions covering hazard categories, the risk matrix, the hierarchy of controls, and how the hazard analysis links into the permit-to-work system.
