ABOUT THIS COURSE

RIIERR205D Apply initial response first aid is the resources-sector first aid unit — the same lifesaving skills as the HLT first aid course, framed and assessed within the context of mining, civil construction, quarrying and infrastructure work.

The unit covers DRSABCD, CPR, AED use, bleeding control, fracture management and the common medical events you may encounter — but the scenarios, communication chains and equipment are oriented toward worksite emergencies rather than home or community settings.

It is widely required as part of resources-sector inductions, contractor pre-qualification and emergency response team rosters. Many sites prefer this unit over the HLT equivalents because it sits naturally inside the RII safety management system.
