ABOUT THIS COURSE

Chief Warden — Lead an Emergency Control Organisation delivers PUAFER006 — the leadership-level qualification for chief wardens and deputies who lead the ECO during a facility emergency, coordinate the response and serve as the primary interface with emergency services.

This course is for experienced wardens stepping up to chief warden duties under AS 3745-2010. It covers leadership of the ECO, decision-making in evolving incidents, coordinating multi-warden responses, and the interface with fire brigade, ambulance and police on arrival.

A current warden qualification (PUAFER005) is a prerequisite — chief wardens must hold the underlying warden competency before progressing to leadership. For new ECO members starting from scratch, see the combined Warden + Chief Warden + Fire Extinguisher pathway.
