ABOUT THIS COURSE
HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in Remote or Isolated Site is the advanced qualification for workers in locations where emergency response may be hours away — equipping you to manage casualties for extended periods until help arrives.
This course extends standard first aid with extended casualty care, remote area communication, evacuation planning and improvisation when standard equipment is unavailable. It covers the unique challenges of providing first aid in mining, agriculture, marine, expedition and remote tourism settings.
The qualification is essential for designated first aiders working at sites where the response time of emergency services exceeds standard expectations, as defined by Safe Work Australia’s Code of Practice.
