ABOUT THIS COURSE

Emergency Warden and Fire Extinguisher combines PUAFER005 (Operate as part of an emergency control organisation) with PUAFER008 (Confine small emergencies in a facility) — the standard combined qualification for new wardens, ECO members and floor marshals across Australian workplaces.

This course is fully compliant with AS 3745-2010 and meets the training expectations for warden roles in offices, manufacturing, warehouses and other facilities with an emergency control organisation. It covers both the team-based ECO operations side and the practical fire extinguisher use needed to handle small fires before they escalate.

It is the most common warden training pathway delivered across Australia. Workers typically refresh annually to maintain currency. For chief wardens, see Chief Warden — Lead an Emergency Control Organisation.
