ABOUT THIS COURSE
HLTWHS005 Conduct manual tasks safely is a focused unit on the largest single source of workplace injury — the everyday lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and repetitive work that quietly accumulates damage when it is not done well.
The unit covers the principles of safe manual handling — assessing the load and the path, using the legs and core, keeping the load close, planning team lifts, and choosing mechanical aids where they exist.
It is widely adopted across health, community, aged care, warehousing, retail and resources industries because manual task injuries cross every sector. The unit aligns with the Code of Practice for hazardous manual tasks.
